Motorcyclist survives 20m plunge from flyover


KUALA LUMPUR: A college student survived a 20m fall from a flyover after being thrown off his motorcycle.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the incident occurred at around 6.30pm on Sunday (Sept 24).

"The incident occurred at the Jalan Ukay Perdana U-turn flyover.

"The 21-year-old rider was on his way from Hulu Kelang to the Ukay Perdana Mosque and was riding on the flyover at the time," he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 25).

He said the rider lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the divider before he was flung off the flyover.

"The victim fell approximately 20 metres but survived while suffering a broken leg, broken ribs and a spinal fracture.

"He was rushed to Hospital Ampang for medical treatment," he said.
